Welcome!
We are a small publishing house founded to produce Mick Arnold’s excellent autobiography, A Game With Dice and its sequel Their Manners Noted.
It is the story of his extraordinary childhood. Born in Poland, at the start of WWII as a young boy he escaped across Nazi-occupied Europe with his widowed mother to Baghdad, where his uncle was Royal Doctor, and his aunt leader of its sophisticated international social scene. He became a friend and playmate of the little King of Iraq, and travelled with him and his entourage round Iraq. Later he was sent to boarding school in Alexandria, and when his mother re-married to an Englishman, to an English public school. In England he changed his name and his nationality, did a stint of National Service, and though his first languages were Polish and Arabic, gained a place at Cambridge University to read English.
Waterstones and Ottakars stores stock it. The distributor Gardners also stock it, so any good bookseller will order it for you through them, and of course it is available online. You can order it from us directly, but then we have to charge you an extra £2.00 post and package!
